The Linux kernel, pronounced
'linnuks' is the heart of the Ubuntu operating system.
A kernel is an important part of
any operating system, providing the communication bridge between
hardware and software.


Linux was brought to life in 1991 by a Finnish student named
Linus Torvalds. At the time, it would run only on i386 systems,
and was essentially an independently created clone of the UNIX
kernel, intended to take advantage of the then-new i386
architecture.


Nowadays, thanks to a substantial amount of development
effort by people all around the world, Linux runs on virtually
every modern architecture.


The Linux kernel has gained an ideological importance as well as a technical one.
There is an entire community of people who believe in the ideals
of free software and spend their time helping to make open
source technology as good as it can be.


People in this community gave rise to initiatives such as
Ubuntu, standards committees that shape the development of the
Internet, organizations like the Mozilla Foundation, responsible
for creating Mozilla Firefox, and countless other software
projects from which you've certainly benefited in the past.


The spirit of open source, commonly attributed to Linux, is
influencing software developers and users everywhere to drive
communities with common goals.

how to preview ubuntu ultimate interface (dedicated to oni)

1. set priority boot to cd-rom or dvd drive.

2. insert ubuntu ultimate dvd into the dvd drive and let ur system boot from the dvd.

3. enter the first option on the screen.

4. loading...

5. welcome to the ubuntu ultimate desktop. this is for preview interface only (not install yet in ur pc) but u can start using this ubuntu for surfing the internet and chatting with ur friends by set up the ip address. from the desktop u can see the "install" icon. once u click this icon u are ready to install ubuntu ultimate in ur pc. so make sure u've back up ur file and the data on ur hardisk first.. good luck oni!

ubuntu is a free OS and it tell u to pass it on to ur friends.. ubuntu is better than win xp or vista..

ah he did again.. for this 2 weak my ubuntu upgraded for 3 time.. no need to check whether ur copy is genuine or not coz its only happened on win xp.. no need to buy, no need to find a crack or activation code. if people give u a free OS why do you want to buy?

surf the web more faster then ever..

just download the ubuntu live cd then try it yourself. u can compare it with ur windows xp or vista. but how to get the ubuntu live cd?

1. go to mininova.org
2. find the ubuntu live cd or dvd
3. download the torrent (make sure u have the torrent client, i recommend u AZUREUS)
4. when ur download completed, burn it on cd or dvd
5. boot ur pc and run ubuntu
6. if u like this ubuntu, u can install it immediately but please make a backup on ur file.
